Deutsche Post sells its messenger service SIMSme to Brabbler AG

The Background In private everyday life, messenger services such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Telegram are indispensable. In recent years, however, the importance of this type of communication has also risen massively in companies. 57 percent of companies already say that messengers are decisive for their own success. In addition, 40 percent of executives say that messenger apps have become one of the most important communication channels. The Deal Deutsche Post sells its messenger service SIMSme to Brabbler AG. This transaction is executed at the peak of interests for secure messaging services. IEG – Investment Banking Group has acted as exclusive financial advisor to Deutsche Post. SIMSme is an internet-based, cross-platform instant messaging service provided by Deutsche Post AG for companies, public authorities and private individuals. It allows secure messaging while protecting the users’ privacy and complying to recent data protection laws. Brabbler develops a communication platform named “ginlo” that ensures privacy for private users and confidentiality for companies.  Business customers can rely on an end-to-end encrypted and manageable IT solution for the communication among their employees.
