Digital Heartbeat

Thomas Fischer, CEO of the consultancy firm Avantum and Lars Härle, Managing Director at IEG invite you on a “Journey through the digital world of Berlin”. Both advisors will take their guests - managing directors and board members from the German SME sector - with them on a tour of hot spots, start-ups and Fintechs in Berlin.

From September 7th till September 9th 2016, the very first Digital Heartbeat event took place. Selected Managing Directors and Chairmans of German medium-sized enterprises were invited to intensively analyze the topics digitalisation and digital transformation together with Lars Härle, Managing Director IEG and Dr. Thomas Fischer, CEO avantum consult.

After a joined dinner in very good company on Wednesday evening, the journey through the digital Berlin took off on Thursday, September 8th at 9 o'clock sharp. Especially live on location - visits to companies and startups were part of the agenda. McMakler was the first stop. Felix Jahn, Founding Managing Director of Rocket Internet and Founder of home24, together with the two McMakler Managing Directors Lukas Pieczonka and Hanno Heintzenberg presented their new company. Their idea: to offer users a full real estate service.

Afterwards, the Digital Heartbeat Tour stopped at Smart Mobile Factory, where CEO Rüdiger Weiß showed various applications which the company have created for their customers of B2C as well as B2B businesses.

A block of very interesting keynotes followed after that: Stefan Heilmann presented the "8 trends that will change ALL industries", Wolfgang Lang introduced his company Crowdfox that takes its role as the "amazon hunter" very seriously and co-host Dr. Thomas Fischer talked about the "Digital Pragmatism".

Before dinner, that took place in the spectacular location "Lounge im Turm", the attendees were introduced to the real "startup spirit". The team of the FinTech company Barzahlen welcomed the Digital Heartbeat Tour and presented the "Bank Branch 2.0".

Attendees, Hosts and Referents gathered together for a joined dinner. Dr. Leif Göritz hold a speech during dinner and talked about the recent Thalia acquisition and the importance of digital processes.

The second day of the event started with Big Rep. With "Printing a Revolution" the Digital Heartbeat attendees submerged into the world of 3D-printing. Afterwards, Schleicher Electronic Berlin and R3 welcomed the Digital Heartbeat Tour and proved to be a very good example for a symbiotic relationship between a medium-sized company and a startup. Furthermore, CEO Peter Brinkmann granted insights into their own incubator ZIZZL (Zoom Zone Lab).

A joined lunch with keynote speaker Jens Wohltorf, CEO at Blacklane, ended the journey through the digital Berlin.
